Title: 'Up in Smoke'
Rating: G
Word Count: 202
Claim: Eleventh Doctor; 12 Prompts--Poetry Randomizer
Prompt: #12: A Blossom of Fire
Notes/Warnings: None
Summary: And now you stand and stare, appalled, as it all crumbles at your feet. All that you worked for is little more than ash on the wind.
He hadn't meant for it to be this way. No matter how much you may damn him, no matter how you soothe your wounded ego, this is not what he'd intended.
It isn't his fault that your stronghold is a shambles, flames blossoming from the roof, windows blowing outward as the heat increases. He isn't to blame for the fact that all of your plans have--literally--gone up in smoke.
Oh, no. This is all on you. You should have listened. But you didn't, did you? You wouldn't let yourself listen to the boyish-looking chap with the bow tie. So focused were you on your machinations that you ignored the warning held in those eyes. Paid no heed to the growl in that already deep voice, a sure sign that, as far as he is concerned, you have gone much too far.
You infernal idiot.
And now you stand and stare, appalled, as it all crumbles at your feet. All that you worked for is little more than ash on the wind.
You should have known better. Deny it though you will, a valuable lesson has been taught tonight.
Those who would dare awaken the Storm...run the risk of being struck by lightning.
