Title: The Only Exception
Rating: G
Word Count/Size/Length: 200
Claim: Eleventh Doctor Era (6 prompts - Murder Mystery table)
Prompt: #03 - Mystery
Notes/Warnings: n/a
Summary: She always said spoilers.
Characters disclaimed.
River would say spoilers. River always said spoilers. He may never know. He knew there was only one reason he'd ever tell anyone his name, but he couldn't look at River like that. He knew it was coming; the day he would see River's worthiness, but until then he was left guessing. From what he'd seen of River so far. . . Well, it just wasn't enough to make deductions. He obviously trusted her in the future, and she clearly trusted him. He'd never tell anyone his darkest secrets. Not that his name was a dark secret, but it was a secret nonetheless.
It seemed to click, but then it didn't. He was still hung up on the reasons inside his head. That one exception. He'd only ever tell someone his name if. . .
River turned out to be part Time Lord. Apparently being conceived in a TARDIS does that to a human. And perhaps she could read circular Gallifreyan (the TARDIS never needed to translate it, that kept his secret safe for years). And perhaps that is where she picked up his name. Perhaps he never parted with it directly. Perhaps that situation, that one exception, would never happen to River.
Oh, he hoped it never would.

Date: 2015-04-19 11:47 pm (UTC)No-one could wrap their minds around the mystery of River. No-one!
You're right. He normally knows everything, he can see it all. But in River, he can't. Interesting point! :D
